Kate Fraser web 1

Kate is a Farm Performance Consultant for Abron and has been with the company since February 2010. Kate’s client area includes the Waikato, King Country and Taranaki.

Kate has been brought up on a sheep, beef, and deer farm north east of Taumarunui. She has completed a Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Agriculture at Massey University in Palmerston North. A requirement of the degree was to complete practical work for which Kate spent two summers working at Lochinver Station.

Kate has a strong passion for sustainable farming systems which initially started from the practices her parents employed on their home farm. They moved away from the super phosphate tradition in the late 90’s and began to use biological fertilisers for which Kate has first hand witnessed the results. This lead to Kate attending courses held by Phil Wheeler and Arden Anderson to learn about soil principles and the physical and biological aspects of soil before attending Massey.

Following university, Kate wanted to work for a fertiliser company that allowed her to consult with farmers and track farm performance as a result of their fertiliser practices. To help improve understanding and knowledge Kate has since attended courses by Graeme Sait and Neal Kinsley. Kate enjoys working with both drystock and dairy clients.
